FAQs

  • A standard 2-bedroom house should take around 3 working days to process a high-level inventory.  More detailed inventories or larger properties will take longer; we will discuss with you and come to an arrangement.

  • Yes, if that is what you want us to do.  It will be critical however to understand the parameters of what you require from us so there will need to be a detailed discussion regarding what can/cannot be thrown away and what level of tidying/organising is required.  We can box everything up and label it if necessary, or we can just put things away neatly.  It is up to you.

  • We request that you install a lock box with a key somewhere discreet within the property boundary.  The code for the box will be your choice and the key will not leave the property.  If there is a burglar alarm, we request you set it and give us the code to deactivate it upon entry to the property OR you deactivate it when we access if it is a remote system.

  • Because this is a museum-grade inventory, you can be as detailed as you like.  In a standard 3-bedroom house where the client knows the property well, it is unlikely to be necessary to stipulate which cupboard the dinner service is kept in, though it could be useful to know how many plates and bowls there are.  In larger properties however, where there may be multiple dinner services in multiple locations, more detail regarding location and service type becomes more useful, and, given that the system will allow searches to act under (e.g.) ‘dinner service’ it is then possible to identify how many services are held, their composition, manufacturer, location and any other information deemed appropriate to enter, potentially across multiple properties.

  • You will be given a Personal Inventory which has 3 tiers depending on the size of your home.  You can upgrade from one tier to another should you wish your inventory to be very detailed or if there are many possessions to itemise.  However, we will group affiliate items, so for example, a dinner service will be entered as a single item but within the entry we can stipulate how many plates, bowls, side plates, etc are present.  We could also group all crockery together, regardless of sets if that is what is requested.  It is up to you.

  • This inventory comes with 3 users. While the inventory is being generated, Martlet will occupy 2 user log ins but one of these will be released to you upon completion of the inventory.  More users can be added if needed just as more data can be added if need be.  This will be at your own cost.

  • Our standard rate is £50/hour up to 20 hours’ labour but we can package this for larger jobs.  Given that all jobs are very different, we will discuss with you what you need and come up with a tailored package that works for you.
