Martlet helps when a (usually elderly) person’s home becomes vacant either because they have died or gone into care, although we can also help those downsizing or in other similar situations. We provide a comprehensive inventory of the property and any additional buildings, documenting household contents clearly and accurately. Inventories can be tailored to your preference, ranging from a high-level overview to a detailed, itemised record.

We work with auction houses or other professionals to identify items of higher value and can arrange for them to be documented and securely transferred to you, giving peace of mind that important belongings are handled with care.

Items will be disposed of strictly according to your instructions, whether to specified family members, through charitable donation or to appropriate waste or clearance services. We prefer to recycle or re-use items including clothing, books, furniture, pictures and kitchenware and we dispose appropriately of medications and non-essential paperwork.
