Who We Are

Martlet is unique; the first service of its kind.

Grown from a background of a dispersed, busy family, we found as our older family members died, it took an inordinate amount of time, effort and energy to work out firstly what our relatives had in the house and secondly whether anyone wanted it.  There was then confusion over which vase was going to whom, whether anyone had claimed the nice blue sofa and other small but annoying problems that came at a time of high stress following bereavement.  Nobody needs misunderstandings, especially when grieving, so I created Martlet.

As a former teacher then naval officer, and latterly project manager in a plethora of business environments, my career has not been conventional but it has been enormously interesting and has allowed me to work with diverse groups people.  I read once that you should do what you enjoy most, and I really enjoy two things:

  1. Making life easier for people, and

  2. Making the most of what I have.

At last, it seems I have found a premise by which I can do both.

Whether you’re a professional whose time is better spent, a family grieving, a nephew having to go through Great-Aunt Maud’s knicker drawer or indeed all of these things, Martlet can help.

We are fully DBS checked, efficient, effective, objective and we really care.  Please do get in touch and we can discuss how we can help.
